October 1969 saw the release of Ummagumma, Pink Floyd’s fourth album.

This vinyl definitively propelled the band of Roger Waters, David Gilmour, Rick Wright and Nick Mason into the world of experimental rock, presenting them as an acknowledged leader of the musical avant-garde of the time.
It is a double album divided into two parts, the first live and the second studio, and was released by the Harvest label with catalogue number SHDW 1/2 for the UK market and catalogue number STBB-388 for the US market.
The live part reproduces the band’s performances in concert between April and May 1969 at the Mothers Club in Birmingham and Manchester College of Commerce. The tracks recorded live were retouched in the studio by adding vocal tracks.
The studio portion consists of five previously unreleased compositions each created by a different band member and was recorded at the famous Abbey road studios between August and September 1969.
