About Me: A Life Between the Grooves
Hi, I’m Massimo M., and this website is the result of a passion for music that began more than forty years ago.
I’m not a professional music critic, nor a record dealer. I’m simply a music enthusiast who has lived through many musical seasons — from the so-called analog turntables of the ’60s and ’70s, through the rise of digital and streaming, only to return (or rather, remain loyal) to the warmth of vinyl..
How It All Started
My journey began in my teenage years. I still remember my very first purchase: “Cosmic Curves” by Dee Dee Jackson. From those disco rhythms, my taste gradually evolved and expanded into territories that once seemed worlds apart: I fell in love with the complexity of Progressive Rock, the raw energy of Punk, the power of Metal, and the dusty storytelling of Country music.

A “Selection,” Not Just a Collection
I don’t own a massive collection made up of thousands of records accumulated compulsively. Mine is more of a carefully curated selection. Among my records you’ll find albums by unknown artists as well as true legends — and they all share one thing in common: they are there because I genuinely love them.
That’s the only rule I feel confident recommending to anyone who wants to buy records: take home only what you truly like, what you know will make you feel good every time you listen to it.
Why Read Me?
On My Best Reviews you won’t find AI-generated reviews or copied press releases. Instead, you’ll find:
First-hand experience – I write about records I have physically handled, cleaned, and listened to multiple times.
A collector’s perspective – After decades of purchases, flea markets, and record trades, I try to offer practical advice on how to identify original pressings and evaluate the quality of an edition.
Authentic passion – I write for the pleasure of sharing the culture of physical media in an age of fast, often superficial digital listening.
Whether you’re a vinyl veteran or you’ve just bought your first turntable, I hope my insights help you enjoy your music to the fullest.
And yes — it’s all free 🙂

Best regards,
