Black Sabbath is the self-titled debut album by Black Sabbath, an English hard rock band consisting of Tony Iommi on guitar, Geezer Butler on bass, Ozzy Osbourne on vocals and drums Bill Ward. 
This record, together with Led Zeppelin II and Deep purple in rock, is the foundation of hard rock music that would be widely developed throughout the seventies.
Black Sabbath since this first work of theirs overcome the musical paths up to the tracks, made of blues rock and psychedelia, to produce something new. The impact of this new music was devastating, so much so that this first work immediately entered the British Top 10, in the company of artists such as Simon and Garfunkel, Beatles, The Who.
The entire album was recorded in one day, october 16, 1969, and was released on February 13, 1970, not surprisingly on Fridays, only in the United Kingdom by the Vertigo label with catalog VO 6, 847 903 VTY. Subsequently, on June 1, 1970, the vinyl was also released in the United States by Warner Bros. records with catalog number ST 93419.
The original European version of Black Sabbath has the pre-album single Evil Woman as the first track on the B-side while the North American version has Evil World as the first track on the B-side.
